進口真空球閥在真空系統(tǒng)中的作用：

1.開關氣路，當閥1和閥4關閉，閥2打開時，機械真空泵Ⅲ對容器I抽真空，氣流流經(jīng)預真空抽氣管路；當閥2關閉，閥4打開時，機械泵可單獨對擴散泵抽真空；當閥1和閥4同時打開時，擴散泵和機械泵可同時工作，對容器進行抽空，此時氣流流經(jīng)擴散泵。可見，閥門在這種操作中的作用是開關氣路，改變氣流的流經(jīng)路線。

2.控制氣流大小，調(diào)節(jié)真空度在圖1中，調(diào)節(jié)閥1的閥蓋開啟角度，即可調(diào)節(jié)流經(jīng)管路的氣流量大??；關閉閥2和閥4，通過放氣閥3可以給機械泵Ⅲ的入口放成大氣；通過放氣閥5可以調(diào)節(jié)容器內(nèi)的真空度。 

3.定量充氣，在玻璃閥的柱塞上有個一定體積的小洞，當小洞轉(zhuǎn)向右邊和高壓氣瓶連通時，小洞中就可充滿高壓氣體；當它轉(zhuǎn)向左邊和真空容器連通時，就把該體積的高壓氣體放進容器中去，這樣就起到了定量充氣的作用。

3. quantitative inflation: there is a small hole of certain volume on the plunger of glass valve. When the small hole turns to the right and is connected with the high-pressure cylinder, the small hole can be filled with high-pressure gas; when it turns to the left and connects with the vacuum vessel, the volume of high-pressure gas is put into the container, which plays the role of quantitative inflation.
