銅鼎是從陶制的三足鼎演化而來的，用來烹煮食物，后次要用于祭奠和宴享，是商周時(shí)期重要的禮器之一。這件銅鼎爲(wèi)商代前期制品，至今器底仍保管有煙復(fù)。全體裝飾冗雜、精密，圓潤的鼎身配以圓渦紋、風(fēng)鳥紋、蟬紋等紋樣，造型和裝飾協(xié)調(diào)自然，可謂商代銅鼎中的佳作。

Copper tripod evolved from pottery tripod, which was used for cooking food, followed by sacrifices and feasts. It was one of the most important ceremonial utensils in Shang and Zhou Dynasties. This copper tripod is a product of the early Shang Dynasty. It still keeps cigarette smoke at the bottom of the vessel. The whole decoration is miscellaneous and precise. The round tripod body is matched with such patterns as circle eddy pattern, wind bird pattern and cicada pattern. Its shape and decoration are harmonious and natural. It is a masterpiece of copper tripod in Shang Dynasty.
